It’s not necessarily a lie unless they were more specific than the answer in the linked thread.

“We did pen testing at launch” could include some in house and very rudimentary validation of the correctness of any code related to security.



Apart from where they told their boss they never did any pen testing, and then authored a document stating the opposite.


I think they may be more restrictive in their definition than their bosses.
