beautiful illustration - serious question why do ppl still use dashboards? I've been using HA for almost 10 years now and the best part is that everything is automated and I don't have to touch anything.

How do you automate clothing too? My whole family always glance at the temperature and weather on the dashboard before we go out.

Do you automate music selection too? My music taste is very different depending on mood, not to mention my kids.

Or cameras?

I also automate lights but it's pretty nice to be able to control them manually too. Or just pause automations during winter/summer.

Not everywhere has really unpredictable weather. And I have a garage at home and at work, and the garage leads directly into the building. I go to work without ever considering rain (though I do keep an umbrella in the car for when I have to go shopping, etc.).

our temp is on our thermostat and we use sonos / ha app for that. all my lights have lutron switches so if we want them on/off/dimmed we just use the lights.

i had a dashboard mounted to my wall for years we never touched it including me. only time i would open it was to check if it was still working lol

I'm ok with losing location bias. being from a small town and only having 50 ppl in our area code that werent long distance that knew about bbss meant 80% of them were crazy, old, or had weird/obscure interests. I did make a lot of friends during that era.

I expect that anything I type / dictate / post / purchase on the web be it a chat conversation with an AI, a post on social media, a dm, a blog post, a blockchain reference, or an assett in a bucket, will be manually reviewed and forwarded to the authorities. to be fair it is one of the top CMS's on the web (probably won't be in 2027) and its PHP / Mysql which in history have been very exploitable.
