It’s crazy to me that Bill Gates, one of the richest men in the world, couldn’t number one use a condom and number two find his own handler to get him doxycycline or whatever he needed.
There are already many "compassionate use" exceptions out there already. I've family friends be grated that. It helps the pharma company as well as the patient. I'm sure that will happen here.
> TBH the "ZIRP overhiring" seems like the most likely real reason. I could never understand how all these companies could hire so many people for so much money, only to have them work on later-to-be-cannes open source projects.
The same way they hire so many people for so much money to work on AI projects and build datacenter which haven't produced actual revenue for any customers (corporate or otherwise). I'd rather light money on fire to employ people tbh.
I say this as someone who has the 200 dollar Claude sub.
You might be able to, however not easily like when you put out a simple structure fire.
The ground is riddled with small vents that allow oxygen in. If you were to inject a foaming agent and then flood the space you could eventually lower the temperature below the auto ignition temperature.
Might not be easy. Might not be cost effective right now.
But there is a reason that Pagnotti Enterprises bought the land and I doubt it is because they are looking at turning it into a nature reserve.
As far as I've been able to determine, Pagnotti Enterprises has owned land in that area for a very long time and has no apparent plans to mine there anytime soon. They got this new bit of land because the state renounced the right of way and sold it to the owners of the adjacent land. This wasn't a huge meaningful investment to Pagnotti, but they did get rid of the ruined road itself, probably because it was a tourist attraction and a lawyer said to get rid of it.
> People who love using AI to create software are loving it because they don’t value the act of creating & understanding the software.
Why assign YOUR feeling about an interaction to everyone else? LLMs coding agents are a tool for me to investigate and learn about what I'm doing. For others they can be a therapist, or organizational tool, or whatever.
I have a Studio Display and would also love if it had a much higher refresh rate, but only because I play WoW on it. Why isn't 60hz enough for programming? I don't think I notice the refresh rate at all when not playing a video game or watching videos.
I'm personally not very sensitive to refresh rates, I only really notice it in video games and it wasn't enough to keep me from replacing my 120hz primary monitor with the Studio Display. I was just curious about why you prefer higher refresh rate for programming, thanks for answering!
