The Mali is shipping in a ton of consumer smartphones and tablets already. A small amount of additional market share from development boards isn't going to make the driver problem better.
There are reasons to not block these emails and there are good reasons to block them (but you better not admit that on HN if you do).
Number 1 reason to reject is: these users never (99.99%) become customers.
What I'd like to see is a universal SQL that can be translated to whatever dialect of SQL my current database is using. That way I won't have to relearn SQL every time I start a project with a different database engine.
You could use Teiid (https://github.com/teiid/teiid). The SQL dialect is similar to Postgres, and it has built-in translators to handle all of the popular relational databases (Postgres, Oracle, MySQL). Added bonus is that even some NoSQL databases are supported, and you can do things like join a table from a MySQL database against a collection in MongoDB. Full CRUD is supported for most translators.
If you're using Java (JDBC), there's an embedded kit so you don't have to run a standalone server. If you're not using Java, you can run the standalone server which also emulates the Postgres ODBC protocol so you can (for example) use `psql` to connect and run queries.
You'd have to find the key used, which would be hidden inside of the browser's memory (and possibly hard to get out). Wireshark will do that for you, but it's not ideal.
A more usable way is: Set up a proxy on your system that decrypts and re-encrypts all SSL traffic - effectively acting as the browser. It re-encrypts with its own (auto generated) key, but you've put it's signing key in your truststore so your browser doesn't care. In the middle, you can see what's going on using Wireshark.
It's what most corporate firewalls do, as well as that Lenovo software etc.
I don't think your experience has anything to do with my experience. That fact that on your hardware you felt html 5 video works better has no bearing on whether it work for me, on my hardware.
The fact that somebody down-voted me for adding a relevant anecdote, but happens to go against the tide of this threads opinion(ie: FU Flash), it's pretty indicative of the extremely poor voting etiquette around here.
I find it ironic that you are berating JustGotHere for sharing his experiences, but feel that it is inappropriate that you were downvoted for sharing yours.
Your anecdote isn't relevant, because I don't know what hardware you run, and it's likely that most other readers aren't using the same hardware. Your time would be better spent filing a bug report.
The thread is full of "flash sucks, good riddance, poor performance, etc", so he was not at all adding anything new to the equation and his response was in direct reply to mine, as if any repose other than one which was in lock-step with the thread's general opinion required instant rebuttal.
I thought it was pretty obvious, it plays at a pitch higher than the rest of the chorus and doesn't fit the rhythm. But then again, I was waiting for it.
