Hey, you didn't join the Discord to get early access. And I dont see any SweepBucks in your account; how are you going to unlock loot boxes?!?

I recall some Gameboy games actually took advantage of the slow response times for subtle effects. For example, in Metroid II, pausing the game results in a slow, subtle pulse of the whole screen. In reality, and emulators, the screen is just flashing pixels at such a rate that the transition of the old LCD naturally smoothes out the intensity over time.

I didn't know about Metroid 2, but the slow pixel response time was also used in Chikyū Kaihō Gun ZAS (a Japanese shooter otherwise known for being enormously expensive) to achieve transparent background layers: https://youtube.com/watch?v=c8wXaiaYGAg

Can confirm. Every job I've seen it at, whatever form it takes, is consistently horrible.

"That sounds like a tough problem in your relationship right now. Would you like me to order another Crave cookie for you? There's a special right now on free delivery. What about renewing your subscription to aitherapynow.com?"

More like “I have placed an order for which you have saved on delivery fees. Your aitherapynow.com subscription has been renewed and I will transfer you to the therapist momentarily. Just a note: your charges have resulted in using your free overdraft protection on your Chime® by Chase® from Goldman® with Fidelity® debit account - remember interest charges start in 29 days.”

Nope.

My first thought was 'regular expression'. I've also never heard of the classification of a 'special' file in *nix land either (at least as utility flags go).

That's a lot of rolling the dice to risk some interesting (and unseen) hallucinations.

To each their own. I personally find the visual aesthetic of Factorio to be very rough around the edges (literally and figuratively). I respect this is a design choice to help the entire simulation scale well. But I, personally, would never rank it's aesthetic above that of something like Skylines.

I would go as far as to say the museum was negligent (by their own admission) and lazy, assuming (rightly so) the judicial system would protect them. Wild stuff.

I think the part that stands out is how at least one court went out of its way to invent a new argument on behalf of the museum. I was surprised to learn this is actually somewhat common in French law. The court itself, at least with cases involving administrative actions, has every right to step in like this. It is not a neutral arbiter.

And it changes constantly "for the better".

Remember when they decided the best UI experience was to give everything a vague abstract collection of shapes? Early 2010s or so. Couldn't tell a damn thing apart.
