I thought the laptop arms race would be raw power and battery not weight, thinness and style.

Competition in laptops stalled, it is probably ripe for disruption. Looking the shameful Thinkpad 25, and the hype around it... there is a market for a developer laptop that does not suck.

Laptops were disrupted years ago by netbooks, which got killed by phones.

I share your opinions about Logistics and supply chain, especially the curation of available resources. I have sent you an email, thanks.

If anyone is interested, a book titled Hammer And Tickle: A History Of Communism Told Through Communist Jokes by Ben Lewis has a few gems in:

An inspector is at a factory conducting an inspection. He addresses one worker:

'What are you doing here?'

'Nothing.'

'And what do you do here?' he asks another.

'Nothing.'

He writes in his report: 'The second worker may be released for unnecessary duplication.'

I totally agree with the 'mass production' observation. I have just submitted my thesis, on day one I was told almost verbatim, "do not expect to contribute anything of note". It feels like they do not even want you to try.

Wouldn't many countries like Russia and China stop allowing the sale of iPhones or at least their use by government officials if the FBI succeeds?
