Ask her if she has tried asking someone in sales for their C-Level presentation/slide deck

A Japanese girlfriend?

Happily married my friend!

A chicken and a Hacker news humorless editor walk into a bar...

I use a LG Stylo mostly because of buttons on BACK of case.

Of all features I find the RECESSED relatively large rocker volume buttons with easy to discern middle selection button located just below the centered high-def camera BEST for continual use.

The case pops open for sim card and microSD card unlimited storage but 32GB is more than enough.

The Stylo has a stylus I don't use at all...the larger screen helps that much.

The 'phablet' size phone is shockingly portable and it has been my main computing device (% of time and # of accesses)

My notebook is indispensable for the keyboard and more productive sessions...BUT very surprising for me for vast majority of information based queries AND exercise-centric Spotify I use the 'phablet'which is light enough to forget in my front pants pocket with corded wrap-around headphones.

The price is so low (feels free really) I don't stress about theft or damage as current setup is cloud based.

My Nexus 7 ('13) tablet is rarely used, usually bedside for reviewing documents that don't resize on zoom and lap is not available.

I don't know why but I jones for the iPad Pro and Pencil stylus just to use it one time...post what you decided and why.

Good luck.

If not for those back of case buttons, I would LOVE go full Apple ecosystem if I could pretend it would add something significantly besides cost and inconvenience of side buttons.

It is peculiar your post drew me to add my perspective.

What do you mean by "main computing device"? Do you code on it? Read books? Scribble sandbox idea?

As an orphan from the semiconductor industry, proficient with hardware, assembly, firmware, and light software coding I think prospective employers neglect seemingly non-qualified engineers that might answer phones or work in receiving while updating specific skills that engineering needs but is disconnected with HR who filters prospects with a laser focus to ensure immediate productivity.

We need to recycle great engineers who are unable to predict the exact programming skills that would lead to NEAR term employment.

How can we address the lack of a domestic engineering ecosystem?

For the worst possible education, live streaming fills that void.

Much of learning is communication, not avoidance.

I mean ,most developing countries i.e Africa are experiencing growth in mobile phone usage yet infrastructure such as roads are being still bad or worse crippled by corruption.A lot of cars get stuck along the road in cities with most people going to mostly school:: during holidays the traffic can be observed to have reduced tremendously.Think of spicing distance learning with live streaming ..

Common sense.

Google Wave.

Only kidding. ;)

Where is the scepticism about corruptible data due to biased sponsorship?

2011's Climategate should give pause to your hysterical mindset.

Have all of your social circle implement the changes and monitor the data for a few decades to guage the effectiveness of your proposal.

Skepticism is important, but if we refrain from drawing conclusions and acting until all doubt is eliminated, then we'll never conclude or do anything. There are even reasons to be skeptical about ideas such as evolution and relativity.

However, there are many more reasons to be skeptical about the alternative theories for these phenomena. We also should be skeptical about the alternative theories of what is happening with our climate, and about the people who propogate those theories and their funding and agendas.

In my mind, the body of research is far too large to doubt due to inevitable flaws here and there, the expert consensus is overwhelming and far too broad and deep to be a conspiracy, and the predictions have been relatively accurate. If someone can provide a better model for our climate and what is happening, I'd be interested, but delaying action further is an unacceptable, unjustified risk with such high stakes and exceptional evidence.

> Have all of your social circle implement the changes and monitor the data for a few decades to guage the effectiveness of your proposal.

So you are saying, wait twenty years to see if we are wrong?

You get some sort of reinforcement from this activity.

Do you eat only sugar? Why not?

What you read might be constructive.

Enroll in a school.

Keep a journal of your suspect activity.

The issue should be framed as what are the chances your home or workplace will collapse during a major earthquake.

I believe a reasonable person will conclude taking reasonable precautions to supplant overwhelmed first responders is the only investment a person need to actually plan in event of a nearby major earthquake.

To believe your family will be harmed by a collapsed building in California is unreasonable hysteria.

Our construction standards have been upgraded to survive the quake.

The few block radius of destruction is infinitesimally small to predict.

Thanks. What about all the elevated freeways in LA? Looking at the helicopter reports from the Northridge quake, the collapses are pretty terrifying.
