When did rock music, video games or porn tell their audience to kill themselves in a personalized way to a point people actually did it, and in a way that directly links to those media?

(also, like I've already said, I know that this time - and only this time - it's different.)

Knives don't talk to you and don't reinforce ideas you throw at them. Not everyone can legally buy a gun. Manufacturers don't get sued because their product's users had full control over what they were doing.

AI chatbots entertain more or less any idea. Want them to be your therapist, romantic partner or some kind of authority figure? They'll certainly pretend to be one without question, and that is dangerous. Especially as people who'd ask for such things are already in a vulnerable state.

As an iPad owner I would probably use it for taking handwritten notes if the handwriting recognition was reliable enough for text search. But it's not, and the search feature in Apple Notes is the absolute minimum to be called "search". It can only search from the beginning of words, so typing "oo" will never find "foo". Better apps exist but they all come with a subscription of some kind.

I am clearly not the target audience for the iPad. Being restricted to apps and what they allow you to do while asking for money at every corner is not my cup of tea.

Or make them more discoverable. I spent so much time looking for a UI scaling setting, and in the end it turned out its name does not contain any obvious word like scale or size, instead it is called devPixelsPerPx. It isn't even consistent about Pixels vs Px.

px is the CSS unit, device pixels aren't.

Good to know it has some logic to it, thanks for the clarification

I also reduced the use of those phrases, but more because they don't do much other than making the text longer. Except for things like "in my experience" or "as I understand" to signal that they're not meant as factual statements.

That reminds me of the recent term "Epstein class". It seems more and more fitting.

I would first check the iPad + keyboard is actually lighter than the Macbook Air. As far as I know the keyboard weighs quite a bit, though coincidentally Apple's website doesn't specify the weight.

Wow! Over 600 grams for the 11” Air keyboard. That is almost as much as a mechanical keyboard. I had no idea the total combination would be near a MacBook in weight.

From what I've seen people have mostly been asking for Mac OS features on the iPad, not phone apps on the Mac.

The increased compatibility is great and kind of obvious given the switch to ARM, but if it went both ways then the M4 chip in iPads would be a lot less bored.

My screen is 4k and it looks as sharp as it gets with the 1080p scaling. As far as I understand it only gets blurry when using the 1440p setting as that changes the render resolution to 5k which doesn't scale cleanly to a 4k screen.

Which means the UI & text is a bit larger than usual but it's the right size for me.

AWS can profit more from it than smaller organizations or individuals, making it even more untouchable by potential competition.

A market with little competition costs you too in the long term.
