Yesterday there was a link of HN about how the wife of Eric Schmid (?) then went on to marry Dario Amodei (?).

(The names might be wrong)

Could someone remind me why people use Ubuntu?

I remember 20 years ago Ubuntu was marginally more user friendly. Is it the power of inertia? Ubuntu is just Debian actively made worse.

To many of us it's not about the features which you obliquely refer to when you say "evolve" but about licensing. It's extremely concerning that we're replacing GPL stuff for non GPL, and just as concerning that so many folks don't recognise this point.

Licensing is downstream of software existing. The person who actually writes software gets to make the license. If you want a GPL one you have to make that.

The motto of the republican party.

Enron Musk.

These people are the lucky ones, the depositors for the roadster have been waiting for 10 years and will never get anything.

But flying cars!

They should each get a jar of fumes from the jet exhaust of those "flying cars". This memorabilia will be worth a fortune!

As a bonus, one of the jars contains actual Musk fart. It could be the one you bought!

> Can't wait for the unlimited plans we will have in due time.

I don't see how this can happen. The cost of serving a model grows linearly with use (energy). The cost of serving a mobile data plan is approximately zero.

> The cost of serving a model grows linearly with use (energy)

The cost of processing tokens however does not. Throughput and efficiency are improving around 10x per year. Hardware is not the only factor.

I read these articles and am reminded how nice Julia is.

su-FI-cient, co-MU-nal, I don't see your point.

> succumb also with one c and without b

What? I read that b.

It's 1 command line to compile with juliac.
