Try going back to thumb typing, no long press symbols , and no cursor movement from your spacebar. I've almost thrown my test iPhone at work across a room more times than I'd like to admit (since it doesn't belong to me)...
You're assuming that politicians aren't aligned with mass surveillance of the populous to the point that they don't care whether allowing it to be in the hands of those that will abuse it is granted.
But how could it possibly? For work, sure, this kind of minor efficiency means something, so I'll stick with Chromium-base. But for my own phone? This is like the exact type of thing that proves the monopolistic dark patterning. Personally, the modicum of convenience feels super short-sighted compared to the ethical/privacy hangover, not to mention the risk to future availability of a viable competitor.
My vicious cycle is that the optimal time to work is overnight, when the world is asleep and the notifications and the chatter finally cease. Then, of course if I'm able to keep myself awake through the early evening I'm up hard-focused all night. Then you wake up exhausted and the focal deficiency during the day is even more pronounced per the above discussion re: lack of sleep, etc. Rinse and repeat.
You're not wrong. Reddit & Elon started it and everyone laughed at them and made a stink. But my guess is the "last dying gasp of the freeloader" /s wasn't enough to dissuade other companies from jumping on the bandwagon, cause fiduciary responsibility to shareholders reigns supreme at the end of the day.
