Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.

The conclusion was: bury it.

Not terribly surprising. Not terribly inspiring either.

I think he's trying to say is, "China therefore is not ready to be a global leader on anything".

I can get that sentiment, but can anyone point to any "global leader" that hasn't done similar things?

The idea that our global leaders are some how moral paragons is just bullshit.

> systemic issues

I like that euphemism

Those are legit numbers. Also 3/5 of the North American cases are new from yesterday.

Not a biologist but the whole thing reminded me of a NOP sled

If you used your nop sled in a stenographic fashion (ie: each type of NOP can be decoded as some piece of information) you would be pretty close when it comes to RNA virus replication. For that matter, some computer viruses purposely mutate the nop sled to avoid creating scan strings, so there are a number of similarities to be had as long as each mutation still performs the necessary function.

Yeah, this is what's gonna happen to Plaid.

Thank you.

Obviously a response to yesterdays post:

Huh? They’re completely unrelated.

No, they're two different things.

I think the scariest thing about this is if this was a PR stunt, the release of an unknown vuln could be completely controlled by whoever knew about it. Best case scenario is a relationships between Microsoft and the five eyes. It could have just as easily been China, a independent group or whatever. It's even possible that the top of Microsoft and/or NSA might not even know. But if it wasn't planned, no one would admit it anyway.

Thinking with my tin-foil hat: Same date as windows 7 last patch right? Not sure if this was a risk decision or an intentional message.
