What about fortnite do you believe is "training children to be degenerate gamblers"?

To my knowledge there is no "gambling" aspect of the game. Did you just randomly pick fortnite because other games have loot box mechanics and you assumed fortnite did too?

Fortnite did have loot boxes until they were sued recently. https://www.theverge.com/2021/2/22/22295676/epic-games-fortn.... The ability to buy skins isn't much different really. Just because you know what you're getting doesn't mean there isn't an addictive aspect to purchasing skins etc. especially when they're advertised in a manner to elicit an aggressive "i need this" response.

Additionally, the actual game-play is made to be addictive and young children don't have the ability to keep this in check.

Not just a specific game, but gaming culture in general, especially for the Gen-Z market, is steeped in microtransactions. I don't have specific citations but Adam Alter's book _Irresistible_ dives into this and other topics related:

This is so far from reality I'm fascinated as to where you've gotten this idea from. Is your concept of the US based on comic books or old spaghetti westerns or some media in your country?

The odds of getting shot by someone wanting to take your wallet is just so close to zero that it literally never crosses my mind. I'm more likely to die getting struck by lightning or having a meteorite fall out of the sky and hit me.

We're at the start of an interesting period in human history.

Millennials have grown up with all sorts of petrochemicals surrounding them in a way not previously seen. We realized BPA was bad, but it's still around and the replacements are mostly just untested and unknown, bit actually safe. There are hundreds of different chemicals from agricultural or industrial use in our water supply, as are a number of heavy metals, pharmaceutical drugs, etc.

Add in air pollution, diets high in sugar and with coloring, emulsifiers, preservatives. Our gut microbiomes are a mess, we've got endocrine disruptors in our food and water, we're stressed out and isolated.

It all adds up to a population that's going to have formerly rare diseases and conditions tied to inflammation, autoimmune or similar issues being far more common
