I guess the point is, whether you want to tag everything yourself, most of the tags are really standardized anyways. Probably a standardized shared tagging system that allows some personal touch would be the best.
Think it's still fairly early depends on what kind of internship you want to do. There are always companies looking for cheap labor like interns, and students eager to do dirty work and put something in the resume. These two things mix and match quite well.
i totally understand that such key words are polluted with searches like Monty Python, but the trend does seem to change much even if we apply more restricted key words, as already pointed out by many other replies before. in the end it's really just a matter of habit using what programming language to do what, it's still, however, interesting to see how popularity of one language come and go.
