If you're a band, your life's work is the music. The platform is just a communication channel.

Their website can provide the backbone for concerts, merch, DTC tix maybe? I’m sure the fans that are not on these platforms would appreciate.

...but they do? I don't really see what your point is.

You're talking about Polaris? I really don't see how they're compatible or how Tailwind is useful to those liquid templates. The only thing that makes sense to me is headless Shopify, maybe that's the direction Shopify is headed in? But they've been struggling to get any traction there it seems to me.

There's still Houston but that's it as far as I know.

Just like "violence" can now mean speech you don't agree with, "genocide" means military action you don't agree with, and nobody seems to know what "woman" means anymore, Maybe the solution is to stop using words.

Citizens United is widely considered the event that would cause US corruption to spiral out of control, but there was always the hope that a constitutional amendment could get us out of this.

Neither side ever even attempted it. Every once in a while you get some lip service about small money donations but nobody ever tried to go after the problem at the root in all this time. Think about what that means.

What's a scapegoat then?

It is from the Bible and the old testiment law. A goat were prepared for sacrifice (part of a much more complex ritual that I'm skipping), but then lead out in the wilderness and released instead of killed.

It's someone that gets blamed despite not being responsible, Do you agree?

I think you need to check the math on that. Knew a former slave maybe?

Yes right indeed, edited.

It makes a difference at a demographics level but I don't think that's what we're discussing here.

Comparing MAGA to Nazis is a bit much, and I would argue that this kind of hyperbole is a better example of how we got here.

True, in the sense that right wing extremists apparently have no agency and no responsibility for their actions or beliefs.

I was thinking more that Nazi's rounded up and gassed a million Jews. So I'm not in a forgiving mood if you're making joking comparisons or trying to be cute.

They did that in the end. In the decade leading up to the final solution they engaged in a lot of shenanigans that have already been replicated by maga.

Many governments engage in "shenanigans". One of the biggest mass deportations in US history was directed by Eisenhower, the same guy who beat the Nazis. Switzerland just recently considered a more severe halt to immigration than anything contemplated by the US.

> One of the biggest mass deportations in US history was directed by Eisenhower

About a quarter of a million, hardly the biggest .. and importantly this was at the request of the Mexican Government who wanted many of the Mexican workers who entered the USofA to be returned to work in Mexico.

Despite the derogatory name https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Wetback was a attempt to appease the Mexican Government and get their continued support to provide "legal" Mexican labour to the USofA.

Eisenhower did not gas Jews. Please fuck off with your weak ass what about Eisenhower bullshit.

I know you think you're being cute but some of us had grandparents that had to flee that shit and do not find quite so hilarious as you and your mates.

I think you and I are on the same page? I'm trying to push back on the handwavey Nazi analogies by pointing out that garden-variety "shenanigans" are not necessarily rare, i.e. the Nazi/Trump comparisons are not necessarily valid.

Is it just me or does it seem like they should have caught this guy sooner?

Having a guy write lyrics about a killing is one thing.

Having enough evidence to take to a grand jury, get an indictment, and convince a petit jury beyond a reasonable doubt, and survive appeals is another.

Right but if it was Taylor Swift instead of Tupac Shakur... You get what I'm saying, right?
