Clio: Ruby/Rails Developers, UI Designers, Product Owner / Manager

Vancouver, BC (Telecommuting is an option - we love remote devs)

Clio (http://www.goclio.com) is hiring Ruby on Rails developers, UI designers, and Product Owners / Managers. We are a fast-growing provider of practice management software for lawyers in small firms. Think of Clio as a mashup of Highrise, FreshBooks, Basecamp, and Harvest tailored to the specific project management needs of lawyers that practice as solos or in small firms (which is, by the way, 80% of lawyers in North America).

We're a small, fun-loving and tight-knit team with members spread across North America. We're looking for team players that also know how to work independently. If you're located in Vancouver, great, but if not please still apply.

You can see our complete list of openings here: http://www.goclio.com/about/career_opportunities/

If you're interested please e-mail me (Jack, CEO/Founder) at jack at goclio.com. Show me you're a detail-oriented person by making your subject line rhyme. (see what I did there?)

Hi there,

My startup (http://www.goclio.com) makes web-based practice management software for lawyers - specifically solos and small firms.

One of our newer features, called ClientConnect, does exactly what you're looking for. ClientConnect allows Clio users to securely share documents with clients. It essentially creates an extranet for each client the lawyer deals with, and allows them to securely publish documents to that extranet. The client can then view and comment on the documents. The client sets up their password the first time they access their ClientConnect account.

You can see the full ClientConnect announcement here: http://www.goclio.com/blog/2009/02/announcing-client-collabo...

Cheers, Jack

I'll take a look, thanks!

First, read pg's essay on the subject, if you haven't already: http://www.paulgraham.com/equity.html.

Although it's tough to revisit this question after you've already established a deal (it would easy be perceived as opportunistic), it can't hurt to ask.

At worst, the other founders should be able to justify the allocation you've been given and their reasons for not upping your share; at best, they might revisit their decision given how much value you've delivered over the past 7 months.

Just make sure raising the question doesn't come across as blackmail.

We actually hadn't spent much time on Twitter prior to the show. Went in with about 60 follows, and left with roughly double.

We found what worked best was making some informative posts on the hashtag for the conference. In our case the conference hashtag was #LTNY.

We just requested that people DM us for a demo, etc., and the response was phenominal!

You can see the amount of traffic, as well as some of our posts at: http://search.twitter.com/search?q=%23LTNY
