Come on now. AfD is not arguing for or against social or economic issues. This isn't a spat about budgets, or energy.

AfD leaders want to bring back the German nationalism of the 30s/40s, fullstop.

Can we please stop pretending this isn't the case? It's so tiring.

I'm confused. Your comment's shitty tone implies you're overwhelmingly in favor of LLMs. That's copy-pasting not just on steroids, but on crack cocaine. So what point are you trying to make?

If you read carefully I don’t suggest you to base your personality on producing code at all. Whether it comes from SO or Claude, there is no proud in any of these. Let’s be adults and be proud of solved problems and users using our products.

You've grossly misunderstood the point of this thread if that's your takeaway here.

Well, yes. But not here. I don't think he'd go in and troll the real Elizabeth Holmes when he has the chance to do real journalism.

Admittedly seeing him at first made me think "wow that lady sounds exactly like Holmes". Then I realized it was supposed to be her and thought "wow, they did an amazing job casting her".

Then I realized it was her, at which point it was immediately clear this was a serious endeavor and not something Fielder typically does.

I think not. Mr. Fielder has had ample opportunity to do any kind of journalism he wanted, and he's chosen the "spoof" brand.

Isn't that the point? That it has to be a spoof and the question is, "Who's zoomin' who?," as Aretha Franklin put it?

I'm just a parrot owner and have no sources for this, but I'd be surprised if they didn't. Birds are very sound-oriented, have to make split second decisions while in the air to avoid collisions and to react to flock calls while they're moving, etc.

At least in parrots, they love playing with sounds. They'll bang things, tap on things, throw things around, and even scream into different objects just to hear the difference. They also have decent object permanence, speaking anecdotally.

Well, it's both. We have all the public facts about Theranos. Nathan Fielder got to live with them for a period of time. That's not public information. It's still a documentary.

>> It's still a documentary.

Then what was the point of bringing Amanda Seyfried into the "documentary" as a major character?

What does Amanda Seyfried actually have to do with the story of Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos?

Because it is not a documentary about the history of Theranos or a bio of Holmes, it is about truth, deception, and media.

Well, she probably watched lots of videos about Holmes and read a lot about her in preparation for her role. IIRC Tina Fey talked a lot about Sarah Palin. And “the point” is that it is an interesting twist to have an actor who portrayed a public figure actually interact with that figure.

The Dropout was not a documentary. It was a dramatic reenactment. I don't think anyone is claiming it's a documentary?

You Can See Everything doesn't have Amanda Seyfried in it as far as I'm aware.

She is in it

Ah, TIL.

(the GP comment is making a joke; go take a look at the first teaser for You Can See Everything)

Ehhh been a lot longer than that, if memory serves.

Man just let people enjoy small things.

I don't know what you're implying - I asked a genuine question: what is impressive about that syntax.

It's not impressive, it's just a fun thing to show people who learned traditionally and never thought to question the commutativity of the syntax (or whether it is commutative at all)

It's not the syntax that's impressive. It's that most people who don't know C, likely wouldn't consider array access to be commutative.

They never said it was impressive. Just that they like to demonstrate it, presumably to people who don't know about it.

Hey, thanks for photopea. I use it frequently.

Can you settle an argument, perchance? Is it pronounced "Photo-P" or "Photo-pia" (as in "utopia")?

It is the question I get asked the most. I pronounce it "photo-P", but I am the minority :D

Thanks for answering, I've been wondering the same as I scrolled past these HN stories.

I had settled on the utopia sounding version but will try and think of peas now.

Oh my god that's hilarious. And thank you!!

They don't have access to the content anymore, as mentioned a bit later in the article.
