Sortition is random selection of members of a legislative body. I think its the cleverest, game-theoretic solution to scaling the justice of direct democracy. It's also at least as old as Aristotle, who described selection by lot as democratic and elections as oligarchic.
I realize, of course, that we're 1.5 days into this game jam (ends on 9/8/2024), but that, it inself, demonstrates the unfairness of first-come-first-serve land ownership rights!
This is a game jam about exploring the ideas of Henry George: land value tax, citizen's dividend, anti-Malthusianism, bidding/auction/assessing systems, Ricardo's law of rent, reclaiming greenspace, urban design, you know, everything that the LVT would solve.
Come help save the world. Or come sign up to play our games when we're done.
