Yeah, that's the key difference. Wine leaves the binary intact, while AnyPS5 actually patches/relinks it.

Does Rosetta modify binaries in-place?

No. It's effectively a JIT.

(It saves copies of translated binaries behind the scenes, but it still behaves like a JIT overall.)

"Critical thinking" has always seemed like a strange concept to me. Its definitions tend to bundle every desirable cognitive habit together until the term basically means "thinking correctly".

Indeed, there are some strange definitions of critical thinking out there which boil down to "good thinking." My definition is specific: thinking about thinking with the aim of not getting fooled. In other words, when you specifically analyze your own thinking or other people's thinking for the presence of significant errors, you are doing critical thinking.

This is true for many AI use cases, but I don't agree that a chat interface is the same as exposing backend actions to a website user.

When working with an agent, you often need to see what it's doing so you can redirect or help it. Modern agents actually seem to hide more of this now. Codex, for example, often shows little more than "Run a command."

So the problem is real, but I don't think "We're Using AI Wrong" is the right framing. In cases where only the result matters, I agree. But there are many cases where seeing what the agent is doing is part of the interface, not an implementation detail.
