90 percent of them dont seem to have much effect, but i found a few that seemed to put me in a super deep sleep... like an audio mind massage. pretty sure it was a 3hz delta state, with out any weird static noises mixed in. i find those static sounds somewhat annoying, but did find a pleasant one with nature sounds mixed in there.
Our educational system is so antiquated. If they could only teach kids how to be self motivated. I know when I was young, I didn't care about making grades, but to have the power to write video games was prety damn cool. Videogames 101, robotics 101, those should be a high school electives, kids would love it.
I remember having an excel class in high school as a required elective. Spreadsheets are important of course. It's amazing how many white collar office people still don't know the basics of it -- but how hard is it to fit in two weeks of simple scripting? I think kids learning even just the bare mechanics of programming could be better off
Let me first say I hate most patents, but they are alowing patents for stupid things, like a rectagular touch screen phones. Or maybe the patent lenght should be shorter, so as to give an advantage, and incentive, but not to halt progress.
Yet, It seems that Google's secret sauce search algorithm made lots of cash for Stanford to help continue to educate and incubate more ideas like this. Without Googles edge of a protected formula, the relatively "non evil" company may not have grown to offer us free services like google voice, gmail, google docs, and a free OS.
That's not a patent, it's a trade secret. The difference is that if I independently invent a search algorithm that happens to be the same as Google's, they don't have the right to sue me.
