> this time there has been no restraint at all.

Absolute, unadulterated nonsense.

> There's a cultural reason why "look how ignorant and stupid Americans are" has been staple Canadian comedy since the latter half of the 20th century.

It's been a staple of American comedy, too. Did you think this youtube clip was insightful or additive?

> Game of Thrones reminded us "the wolf does not concern himself with the opinion of sheep".

Ah, yes. That staple of actual, real, human geopolitics. Game of Thrones. Another brilliant analogy that has a lot to do with the real world. Clever and well thought out. Glad you shared.

There are HN guidelines for how to interact with others on here, particularly when it comes to sensitive political topics

https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html

The main principle is to add value in your comments by engaging with whatever would be a strong version of what you're replying to

> and that hey are all either nazis

That isn't, at all, what GP said, and the perpetual seeking of fake victimhood by y'all is so deeply boring and performative.

But hey, if 40% of people are dumber than the median, then I guess you've uncovered basic statistics. So that's something. Come on, give me a nice 'but what about' now - keep to the script. We all know nothing original or insightful is coming.

> disregard democracy because they don't like the current president

What, specifically, do you think this means? Do you think they're trying to install a new government without a vote?

Or is "disregard democracy" just word salad nonsense that you're repeating for some reason?

Yes, they (some democrats and No Kings protesters) seem to want to do some very undemocratic things.

I am very concerned with much of the rhetoric on the left. I used to be more concerned with the right.

I agree the far left says concerning things, as I do the hard right.

The difference to me today is I see intentional cruelty to our fellow humans by those currently in power. Especially from the likes of Pete Hegseth and Stephen Miller.

Do you think making things up and attributing them to other people is more or less constructive than replying to what they actually said? Do you usually get a great response when you go for cute X clapbacks, or... what?

> At some point a partnership isn't a partnership if people don't participate.

Similarly, at some point people should wonder what else might come out of a partnership aside from raw spending dollars and whether there is value there, instead of simply parroting stupid domestic bumper stickers as if they have value or add insight.

Well that's certainly engaging with the meat of his comment, instead of the HN equivalent spamming stupid X clapbacks for likes. Bravo.

I guess you needed some validation today.

Your college major doesn't determine your career path, and the sooner people stop pretending that they are necessarily correlated, the better.

> which is obvious not only from its name

This was satire, right? Not like, an honest belief that people can't name their organization whatever they want and that there is some universal law that requires that name be descriptive of literally anything?

I invite you to look up those two words in literally any handy dictionary. Their definitions are quite uncomplicated.

We have a "minority" which votes en masse and can sway the results of an election.

Is that still a minority? I invite you to introspect more. It's not complicated either.

You are using the general term "minority" without context. That is intentionally deceitful.

A voting minority cannot by itself gain power in a democratic election.

A population minority may vote with, against, or mixed versus the eventual majority. It is not the same as active participation in voting.

It is mathematically possible when voters are pooled into districts, you create super districts to concentrate the opposition, then create local majorities in the remaining districts.

This is the essence of gerrymandering and why only ~10% of US house races are competitive. It's related to why there are only seven swing states in the US for our only national election, which should be changed to a national popular vote.

Vote banks. Look it up.

Yes, Elon Musk and Doc Brown are really, really comparable. Great metaphor. Who can forget when Doc Brown famously stole a bunch of government data? Or tried, numerous times, to overthrow democracy? Or bought a heavily used social media site to turn it into a propaganda box?

What a well-thought out comparison. You've definitely got something, here.
