>These credits are designed to allow our users to experiment with building tools, apps, and agents that call our API.

this seems like a plenty cynical explanation. it's just a free trial to get developers building on their api.

not haiku, but luna - last week i used it for things like "read this historical dump of 15k support tickets and break them into categories that make sense, then propose help docs that i could write to handle the most frequent queries in each category"

used <10% of my 5hr limit on a $100 codex plan.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen no suggestion at all. If it doesn’t have anything else to suggest, it will suggest committing.

the 'about' link on example.com sends you here https://www.iana.org/help/example-domains

which does appear to say that yes, IANA hosts this

this is almost certainly what anthropic is hoping for here - a judgement that says there is no point in them continuing to monitor and report this behaviour

Agreed. Or at least, customers should only be liable for expenses they incur up to the hard caps they set.

If you don’t have a mechanism for enforcing hard caps, you don’t get to send customers a bill for unlimited amounts.

as a canadian, i'd suggest that reestablishing a healthy relationship might require more than hope.

but from what i can see, the american reaction to this, even from the anti-trump crowd within america, is to basically shrug and assume that canada will quickly forgive and forget.

Yeah, I don't think they understand that we're not "with them" either, and while ending hostilities would be viewed favorably, no one here is sympathizing with the American left either. You can only be so patient with the idea that parading around with protest signs is actually doing anything.

I'd love to hear what you'd consider effective, honestly.

seriously - if netlify can do 15ms warm start + 10ms cold start, wtf is lambda doing for the other 1500ms?

did you get the warm and cold numbers reversed?

that plus sign is addition. netlify claims cold start is only 10ms slower than warm start.

ah, so 15ms warm and 25ms cold. that makes much more sense.

i don't know if you could say they're buying it "happily". more like begrudgingly.

the deal has a 30-day cancellation policy, and they raised a bunch of debt around the same time to fund their own datacenter expansion.

and they shut down Stadia so they'd have some extra GPUs to use for it as well!

I suspect the $500 will sell well. Maybe not for the staff developer, but I can definitely see the exec who thinks he can replace all his developers by vibe coding things himself inbetween meetings seeing a 6x speed up button and buying without a second thought.
