Interesting to learn about other related tools. I built a similar variant called ctenv (https://github.com/osks/ctenv). Focused more general containers and not specific to agents, but I'm using it for that via its configurability.

One thing I wanted was to use any image in the container, which shai also seem to support in the same way (mounting a custom entrypoint script). And same reason for not using devcontainers - make it easy to start a new container.

cool to see ctenv. definitely a similar vibe. thanks for sharing! will look at more closely.

Interesting to see how you incorporated some dockerfile patterns. devcontainer feature-esque.

I'm curious to know if you are using it for the isolation concepts I call "cellular development": https://shai.run/docs/concepts/cellular-development/

There are banks/companies that require BankID, but there are several big banks that have alternative methods. It seems that only Swedbank of the big four require mobile BankID for sign in.

Several of the biggest banks have alternative methods that don’t require mobile BankID.

I really enjoyed the Aquired episode on Hermès. Not my type of brand, but interesting.

I did too. Actually I was introduced to the Acquired podcast by the WSJ last month[1] and Hermes was the first episode I listened to. I wonder if this was just another WSJ reporter falling down that same rabbit hole.

Coincidentally this exact thing happened to me. I checked out the podcast after reading about it here. Luckily I was visiting Europe last month so got some time to listen to this 3-4 hour podcast episode, almost like a half audiobook!

Docker ID: osks

Would be awesome to be able to try it out. Right now VMWare Fusion with a full linux and Docker inside. Had problems with the filesystem integration when using docker machine.

Where do you live (and what did you get, and what does it cost), if I may ask?

It probably does. On my 13" MacBook I need to zoom out to read A List Apart now. If I zoom out two steps in Firefox it takes the font size from 18px to ~14px (guess), which is much more comfortable to read.

It's sad that we haven't gotten further with typography on the web. The solution to "some people have to zoom in" should't be "other people have to zoom out".

Vacation in Sweden (I think it's like this in other European countries as well, but I don't know for sure) doesn't always mean that you go away somewhere, or at least not for the entire vacation. Say if you have four continuous weeks of vacation during the summer (June to August here in Sweden), which is very common, you might be gone for a week or two, but spend the rest of the time at home.

Since almost everyone have the large part of their vacation during the summer, there is a good chance that some of your friends and family will have vacation at the same time, so you just relax and enjoy life for the rest of the time.

(Or you can just spend the entire vacation repainting your house and be stressed about all the stuff you have to do now that you have the time...)

Like I said above, maybe I'm weird :)

I can only relax for a few days before I get stir crazy. I need problems to solve and things to think about. It probably helps that I don't hate my job and have a lot of free time already. A long time ago I realized that I didn't want to be that person who lives for the couple times a year they get a vacation (even if you have 4 weeks I don't want to hate the other 48). Instead try to live in places where I'm on vacation all the time. Right now I'm in the mountains and at the end of the summer I'm moving back to the beach.

I use it now and then to find stories, but I stay away from the comments.

Yeah, that definitely depends on your type of company. For example, some startups build stuff that they aim to sell to larger companies or corporations, then you might need to hire someone to help start the sales process, long before your product is "done". Or in contrast, you might not be able to sell/release until a certain point in time, and it might be better to hire programmers so you can reach that point sooner.

Probably obvious, but it also depends on funding. Some startups can afford to hire a lot of programmers and build stuff for a longer time before they have to make money. Others have less funding and need to make money as soon as they can.
