Agree this should just be a dock/charger for iPads.
Though the sheer fact that in 2026 it's driven by Siri who is not a conversationalist AI, but still the same frustrating voice technology from 2011 is confusing they would even bother releasing this.
Sooner or later their lack of innovating themselves and just copying is going to make them what the Blackberry was when iPhone was released.
> Though the sheer fact that in 2026 it's driven by Siri who is not a conversationalist AI, but still the same frustrating voice technology from 2011 is confusing they would even bother releasing this.
This is no longer the case. Siri as of iOS 27 is a gemini-based LLM system. It has a chatbot app and everything.
Really? On my iPhone 15 Pro Max (older iphone) each time i want to have a complete conversation with it I have to constantly prompt it with Hey Siri then say next thing in conversation. Is that your experience?
I use and have used chatGPT voice while driving for awhile ... here's a very silly example https://www.instagram.com/p/DecaL9Gx6li/ . Besides that silly example im in school now and give chatGPT all my notes to create interact multiple choice questions i take while driving. Overall love hearing how other people are using chatGPT voice and or any other AI voice conversationalist tech.
Have you actually tried using the new Siri conversationally? Because I have tried and tried on my 18 Pro and it is the most frustrating experience ever. The conversation window (time wise) is extremely tiny, she's basically only able to answer a single question and there is no real follow up.
I've tried conversing with it while driving and it is just useless.
Trying to converse with it sitting down and with all the time in the world just doesn't work either.
My choices are basically: use the worst AI assistant in the world, use ChatGPT, or just google it myfuckingself. Siri will never win this one.
E: an example of a frustrating experience making it useless: I was browsing marketplace for used Mac minis and found one pretty cheap. I ask Siri, hey siri tell me about this Mac mini. It identified the model via the model number, but when I asked it for the baseline specs for that model it just kept regurgitating the information listed on the screen. The reason I was asking was because the listing didn't list the amount of RAM, so Siri was just unable to tell me, no matter how I phrased it.
Agreed especially if like me you have used chatGPT voice for awhile. Apple is so behind and Siri is so slow and times out while GPT on my iPhone works 9.5 out of 10 times. Almost 10 out of 10 when driving but while Im hiking with friends and we are talking / brining GPT into our conversations during our hikes it does lose connection (hopefully Starlink Mobile solves this in a year or few).
iPhone 16 Pro Max but it's supported from the 15 Pro and up.
Right now it's only supported in English, and your phone language/locale also has to be in English. Then you go into Siri settings and make sure it doesn't say it still needs to download Siri AI.
Also it's not supported for EU users (however Apple determines that) since Apple won't follow the DMA.
Not when driving and an on my 15 Pro Max I constantly have to say hey siri after each time it responds vs. conversing with chatGPT throughout much my drives. Also, Siri is super slow and I still get "Something went wrong, please try again," 4 out of 10 times.
Also, my silly video shows just how far away chatGPT voice is where you can tell it to say things using different tones of voices. Funny one I tested this evening was having it deliver that silly 8th grade english to french translation in a Titantic the movie, "I'm the king of the world," expressive tone ha.
No I don't think they've ever tried. I have the same experience, constantly needing to say hey siri with every single sentence, and then it just isn't great at answering to the point that it's just useless. Given the choice of Siri, ChatGPT live, or just waiting until I can Google it myself, Siri is functionally useless even today.
If and when smart glasses ubiquitious do all humans become know it alls with the answers to our questions always right in front of us? If so how will that change how we learn?
Indeed ideas are a dime a dozen—until "maybe," you blog about one and a month later watch Zuckerberg announce it?
Since fall 2023, I’ve used ChatGPT voice while driving (for varied uses), which led me to blog on August 14th about OpenAI's rumored hardware. We dont need another thing to carry but clipping it on our keychains would make the best sense (the idea i proposed).
Then a month later at Meta Connect 2026 I see Zuckerberg announce the Muse Charm keychain. A coincidence.. im thinking. I did later in August apply to Scale AI & submitted my blog post here.
A dark side of this is that a lot of unethical, deplorable, and amoral people who were otherwise occupied by jobs might suddenly have a lot more free time to make trouble instead of spending 1/3 of their day working for rent and food to survive.
Not needing to work is a neat future that might be ahead of us. But it could unlock some new negatives as well as positives.
Free money and universal healthcare thanks to the abundance of Ai is where "they," say we are headed. Thanks to Ai ravaging our civil society we are use to.
This got downvoted but i wasnt saying i am for it, rather pointing out what the Ai overlords have said. Ones whom we are allowing to run amok and ravage our civil society with moving in new neighbors (Ai Data Centers) that eat us alive from the inside.
Apple Intelligence and even more so Siri isnt worth the disk space. Regular user of chatGPT's Voice/Conversational AI (while driving) and comparably the new Siri is training wheels Voice AI. You can not have a seamless, back and forth conversation with it, so I wont call it Conversational AI.
Now you may ask who talks to AI? Well this dork does in time I bet more will. Especially, for giving me directions like "That new sub shop is across the street from your favorite McDonalds." No need to fiddle with a phone or look at a screen just drive to a familiar place. I believe talking to AI is safer while driving then us on our phones or messing with screens.

I've been driving for some decades, and probably still have some decades remaining, and these are just never scenarios I've needed, or will ever need. When I get in my car, if I don't know how to get to my destination, I set it on my nav, and then I drive there. My phone stays in my pocket. I never need to use my phone or mess with my screen to find some unknown destination mid-trip.
That's cool everyone is different and I have used my phone in my car since my first iPhone for streaming music and following Google map directions. Now personally myself I dont have to look at my phone as I am now just talking something similar to another person in the car - one who knows it all.
Indeed and Ai keychain voice assistants can double as a home Ai smart speaker and also conversing with it via earbuds when out and about.
I was a bit shocked last week to see Zuckerberg announce the Muse Charm keychain as that's what I suggested and blogged about in August -- portable Ai speakers are best suited on keychains.
Gemini past month or two i will paste in something i wrote and ask it to rewrite it but it will just go into more detail about the subject. Is it becoming a dumb Ai compared to GPT and now Muse?
Why did Pam Bondi under oath repeat loudly "The Dow, The dow," when House Democrats asked why her Department of Justice had not indicted any of Jeffrey Epstein's co-conspirators or accomplices, and regarding the handling and redaction of Epstein files.
America.gov's chatbot provided the following, showing it does delve into politics. I guess when it wants to...
-----
I’ll look up official records of Attorney General Bondi’s testimony so I can report what was actually said, not rumor.
I cannot verify that Attorney General Pam Bondi screamed under oath, “The Dow, The Dow,” as the answer to House questions about Epstein co-conspirator indictments or file redactions. No official hearing transcript in the sources I checked quotes that line.
What official House materials do show
On February 11, 2026, she testified before the House Judiciary Committee. Coverage and committee materials describe a combative hearing on Epstein files, redactions, and related issues. House Judiciary Democrats: questions she did not answer. Ranking Member Jamie Raskin later wrote that she refused to say how many of Epstein’s co-conspirators DOJ had indicted, and Democrats stated the number was zero.

After she was fired on April 2, 2026, Raskin’s statement included: “For the record, the DOW was under 50,000.” That is a member’s remark after the fact, not a certified quote of her shouting those words.
Raskin statement
News items on House sites also say she accused Democrats of a political show and pointed to the administration’s record; I did not find a government transcript that matches the scream you described.
I do not explain private motives. For the official record, use the committee video/transcript when the committee posts it, not secondhand wording.

Here is the committee hearing where she deflects, over/over praises the president and loudly says the dow, the dow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nE2132OUc5s , yet never answers the question. Less then 60 days later she was no longer the attorney general.
