This isn't what the author thinks it is. Google has simply added the ability to share documents and sites with groups that you define in the Google Apps interface.

What it is not is the addition of the Google Groups service (http://groups.google.com/) to the Google Apps suite.

I read it as: "You can now share a document with your Google Groups members by inviting [email protected]"?

Right. It is not that.

You can now share a document with the groups that you create in Google Apps. It's right there in the user management panel for Google Apps administrators.

Do the numbers. If you think the money you save in development costs is greater than the cost of pissing off or alienating IE6 users than go for it.

Just hope your competitors are as picky about their customers as you...

Run it with --enable-plugins and it will pick up the plugins you have installed for Firefox. I assume the same works on the Mac build.

Very cool. Thanks, I'll try that.

Replace "Microsoft" with "all cloud operators" and, though still paranoid, at least you won't sound like a raving hater.

Holy hell. How many vending machines do you have to have to save $20K by turning of the lights?

I have yet to find "normal" people exchanging non-worthless information on Twitter.

As near as I can tell, the situation can be summed up thusly: People that publish or broadcast are rightly smitten with Twitter since it fits well with the model of one-to-many information exchange.

What that results in, however, is an inaccurate representation of the usefulness of it by the media. I get to hear all day from bloggers and broadcasters how miraculous Twitter is (and for them it is), yet every time I attempt to avail myself of it I'm utterly disappointed with the signal to noise ratio.

At best, Twitter is a mechanism for press releases with a 140 character limit. At worst, it's a stuck open valve from which people dribble their mental diarrhea.

Bummer - not working for me in Chromium (OSX) any more either. Which is odd since I did about half the development with it. I'll get that fixed soon...

Change you shouldn't have believed in...

Good point. There is currently a 3 second update on the chat window. I'm interested to see how well App Engine scales on lots of little requests. I'll report back on that later...

Good news - App Engine scales to support ones of users.

Hmm - apparently links in the summary aren't automatically created. Here's the referrer link example again:
