"Don’t say “Hello”"

Proper typography solves all.

My toy programming language uses “ and ” for string literals. It counts nesting, so you can write “Don’t say “Hello””. There is no escaping. In fact, you can quote any piece of code by simply enclosing it in “ and ”. Code is commented out by turning it into an unused string literal.

[OT] What about FreeCAD? It looks like good open source solid modelling software: http://freecadweb.org/

FreeCAD is starting to get good, but the problem is it lacks core functionality that Solid works already has built in. Admittedly, the underlying python calls are exposed, and you can use them... if you know how to make the appropriate calls.

When they get good GUI hooked up to the calls, it will be in parity with the pay solutions.

JPEG is quite old. Some of the best still image compressors are found as I-frame compressors in video codecs. Daala for example uses adaptive block sizes and inter-block prediction.
