It seems like it only concerns IIS (and/or SChannel), and only for HTTP/2 (and maybe 3?). I use apache and openssl and doesn't have any issue.

For me it's mostly a money issue. Then I'ld lose contact with my family and friends, so I'ld have nobody guaranteed to help if i have issues. Also, moving (far) requires a lot of money, then finding a new job, maybe even a better one than you had since the cost of living might be higher in the new place.

I don't think I saw OpenStreetMaps in the lists provided by various people in this thread. I rely on GPS a lot, and having a local one would help greatly (preferably on phone, but still).

Also, OpenLibrary, AniDB / Anilist / Anime-Planet / GoodReads / IMDB / jeuxvideo.com / Last.fm / LibraryThing / MangaUpdates / MyAnimeList / MyDramaList / NovelUpdates / Shikimori / TheTVDB / WLNUpdates (databases of various entertainment stuff).

Then I can look in the GPS where to find them.

Even without GPS, I imagine osm would still prove invaluable in saving lives during a disaster.

I wish there was a simple, portable, plug-and-play solution for downloading and viewing maps on Linux/Desktop computers.

Weren't it for the fact the current UI is intended more for debug and development (as opposed to Android and iOS versions), Organic Maps would be cool.

I already successfully used EU digital signatures through lex [1], but neither openpassport [2] not withpersona / linkedin [3] supports EU's new (2019+) identity cards, only passports. What if the one of the authors themselves do it? And it is also meant to be free according to them?

I am the author. They are Free.

Yes, I got that. My question was- what prevents you from simply uploading a PDF of the book to GitHub, GitLab, etc.?

I used to use Sourceforge. They became unacceptable. I switched to Google code. They turned off, as I understand it because people were uploading pdf's (pitated ones, but big tech seems not to want to make a distinction like that). Then I used GitHub and in the run up to getting bought they made some changes that I thought looked ominous. So I am now at GitLab. Can you blame me for wondering if it is too much to hope that a site will freely host me for, say, a decade even if I go away?

By the way, I put a stable version of my latest on GitLab.

Reminds me that all browsers (except opera presto) conserves all images from the current page in raw pixel (or BMP) format in memory, whether they're currently shown on screen or not. There has been a few bug reports (OOM) in firefox 4 (and the chrome version of the time) that got never fixed.

I had a page that was showing a few thousands DVD covers (in jpg, around full hd resolution), it crashed all browsers except opera presto.

even .webp isn't natively supported (i mean, by microsoft photos and windows photo viewer)

Funny how just by renaming the extension to JPEG it works.

CCP has always been extremely racist and aggressive, at least according to all the web novels i've been reading (translated into english, as i don't speak chinese).
