Perl and Python are both in the "pending someone mentioning something they did that noone else has done before" part of the page, they aren't considered part of the list.
I used to be the Internet Sales Manager for a dealership in the bay area and I can second that TrueCar is a powerful asset for the consumer.
When a dealership signs up with TrueCar they agree to give full access to their sales database. Now TrueCar has access to every car you buy and sell, new or used. They then aggregate this data to create their pricing information.
Also be aware, there is something called "Objective-C++" which is a superset of C++.
The syntax is not "weird" unless you just don't know the language. Acclimation is part of the learning process.
In my opinion, the syntax/language is pretty great. I enjoy ObjC greatly. My main beef with it is that it's less than portable. ObjFW attempts to solve this, and is a phenomenal framework already.
