Seems pretty obvious to me

Right? A bit like the Gervais princple. [0]

But in response, I like this HN comment on it. Do our best to be kind. [1]

Thanks for the Gervais article. Good one.

I wonder what happens when the 'clueless' layer is replaced by a clueless machine intelligence. I like the idea of the work-at-home folks talking to a sort of cartoon head on a screen about their bug list or how much time they spend on Facebook.

That doesn't mean it's not worth studying. Gravity is obvious as well, but if we stopped before Newton we'd have never gotten to Einstein.

Obviously, but they're targeting everyone with a huge feature set

Genuinely curious why Germany's position is excellent for chip production?

There are already quite a few plants (Globalfoundries, Bosch, Infineon, TI, Osram, ...) so the qualified work force is there.

Germany is also pretty heavy on high tech production, so there's a big existing supplier network.

Key suppliers like ASML are nearby (Both the Netherlands and Germany are part of the Schengen Agreement, so logistics-wise almost as open as cross-state transports within the US).

Minor nitpick: Schengen does not matter, membership in the customs union does. For shipping, availability and quality of infrastructure is more important.

Schengen and in the customs union is still a little better than non-Schengen and in the customs union (eg Ireland), but yeah, the customs union is the main thing.

Because it has one of the two largest clusters for that industry in Europe: Dresden/Saxony. The other one is Grenoble, France.

> That way my nose travels less

Your mouse, you mean? Otherwise you have some explaining to do :)

I didn't post the comment in question, but I'm sure they meant nose. Look at the top of the screen where a maximized window's menu bar is located. Notice where your nose is located. Next look at the bottom of the screen where the taskbar is located, and notice where your nose is located. Most likely your head moved a little and therefore your nose moved.

Next look at the top of the screen and then without moving your head, look at the taskbar. You can do it, but try it several times and it will probably start to feel a little weird. Your head is likely to want to move a bit, and holding it still takes effort.

YMMV.

Predictive text/autocorrect still sucks.

Tilting your head to look at opposite edges of the screen can irritate the neck.

Hey it might be a really tall screen :D

so it worked for you when you finally did it with a therapist? or it worked 10% of all the time spent with a therapist?

no always in party context without therapist. happened by surprise actually.

I would pay good money (well, my personal development budget would) for courses like this

Kinda funny to me we need a website to explain you should use <button> for a button

Because there's enough people who don't understand it that it's worth trying?

Wish I had the downvote button

Wow really nice! I also have some contact with Firebase at my job and the web client is really poor and frustrating to use.

I wonder why Google hasn't done this yet? Would offer an even stronger case for Firebase
