I run my own custom version of BlueBubbles and a locally run clone of Wispr Flow. In addition, I've vibe-coded lots of nonsense throwaway apps that helped me with a one time boring task.

Wouldn't have been possible.

I had an issue with accuracy a bit ago. So I repeated a couple of things without understanding why and it solved the problem.

I am glad there is an actual reason.

What is the actual utility of using this model on Azure? It's twice as expensive, according to the link.

Do Azure offer something that simply hitting the OpenAI endpoint doesn't provide?

It's the same price as regular processing. You get guarantees microsoft give you, which are ones OpenAI won't (or require dedicated spend,) and you can use azure identities for access.

They’re ZDR and the OAI ones aren’t

Does anyone know if it is not ZDR on the codex app usage too. I am assuming it isn't

WTHIT?

ZDR = Zero Data Retention — they don't store your inputs/outputs.

AKA extortion

More like the business tax

Compared to OpenAI flex? I'm pretty sure that is their batch processing endpoint, which is naturally cheaper.

If you've got access to an Azure subscription and you don't pay the bill personally.

I ran into the same problem as you, so I ended up by coding a local app that is very similar to Wispr Flow, but uses the small english Whisper model on my low-end Windows laptop.

It is still a quite fast. In fact, I just typed this in using this app.

I use Claude all day long with Firefox - haven't seen your problem. Are you sure the issue isn't somewhere else?

I am not sure that it is. From what I understand, Tether requires a companion app running on your iPhone. And as such, is subject to being shut down by the OS for various reasons (inactivity, etc...). So sometimes you would have to restart the app.

I use LocalSend and every now and then the connection does not work and I have to restart it on the phone.

I had the same feeling. I've since been using Claude Desktop and I have the convenience of the UI with Claude Code built right in. It even supports the same commands.

Yep, same expectation, but it's just click bait. I never learn.

Norway's fund would first have to definitively find out what it takes to actually run all of OpenAI's compute. Monetarily wise. We still don't know that number.

Isn't OpenAI running on investor money right now?

I am from Eastern Europe and people here "assumed" a lot of things about Jews way before Israel was even a thing. Let's not pretend Eastern Europeans would have loved Jews if it weren't for "Israel".

Yes, but within Eastern Europe acceptance of Jews is generally higher than acceptance of Muslims, based on polling.

Many non-Israeli Jews view Israel's actions as abhorent, particularly younger Jews.

Being associated with Israel over the last few years must be a very uncomfortable place to be.

> Many non-Israeli Jews view Israel's actions as abhorent, particularly younger Jews.

And this comes of your own polling? As a non-Israeli Jew, I've seen quite the opposite. They closed ranks in the face of an external threat, especially the younger ones. Ignore Hollywood and Hannah Einbinders of the world - that is not the reality.

Re: Eastern Europe - I was referring to the Pew Research Center survey conducted across 34 European countries in 2015–17.

Re: attitudes of younger Jews I'm really referring to Non-Americans (Americans are a special case). With American Jews the age gradient effect is there, but I don't know about the impact of the last couple of years.

Take data points in Europe and attitudes are marked and there is data to support that Israel's recent actions are absolutely being rejected by younger Jews.

News media is considered more reliable in Europe over the US (by measures of the population) so that could certainly be playing into it.

> News media is considered more reliable in Europe over the US

That sounds like nonsense.

Based on data, the American population distrusts is own news media more than the European population distrusts its news media (markedly so if you consider only Western Europe). In 2026, only 25% of Americans said they trusted news overall [Reuters]

The European media landscape differs - a recent study covering 24 European markets found that experts' assessments of accuracy broadly matched public trust: outlets regarded by experts as providing accurate information backed by credible sources tended to be the outlets the public trusted most. Public-service media generally scored particularly well.

The American population also considers its own news media much more partisan than Europeans consider their news media. Americans are more likely to inhabit separate information ecosystems (which by their very nature makes them less factual and more political - ie they are looking for what they want to hear).

"47% of [American] Jews now view the Israeli government favorably, down from 54% [in 2024]."

From the article:

How did we do this?

This analysis includes findings from a survey of 12,574 U.S. adults, 10,091 of whom are part of the Center’s American Trends Panel (ATP). The remaining 2,483 respondents include oversamples of Jews, Muslims and Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints members from SSRS’ Opinion Panel, Ipsos’ KnowledgePanel and NORC’s AmeriSpeak Panel. We conducted the survey May 4-17, 2026, and it has an overall margin of error of plus or minus 1.3 percentage points.

They drew conclusions about Jews from subset of Jews from 2,483 respondents that included an unknown amount of Jews, Muslims, Mormons, and whoever is a member of Ipsos’ KnowledgePanel and NORC’s AmeriSpeak Panel. I am not sure this is especially representative.

Even so, I don't know if I would characterize 54 to 47 as viewing as "abhorrent" as OP said.

They also say "We weren’t able to survey enough Muslims to show how their views differ by age", so I guess the number of Jews isn't that much below 2,483. According to Gemini that already gives +-2% margin of error, which sounds good enough to me.

> Even so, I don't know if I would characterize 54 to 47 as viewing as "abhorrent" as OP said.

Agreed, also not quite "closed ranks" though. Exactly in between I guess.

I was referring to Jews outside the US, although I appreciate most Jews outside Israel live in the US (you were referring to Eastern Europe).

I'd agree that within the US opinions differ markedly, which I think is likely in part strongly related to differences in news media environment.

I'm also a non-Israeli Jew, and here in the US, disapproval of Israel amongst Jews has risen, especially amongst the young.

According to an AP-NORC poll (https://apnorc.org/projects/among-american-jews-views-on-jew...):

> "Thirty-seven percent of Jews under age 45 say Israel has committed genocide in Gaza compared to 23% of those 45 or older".

The exact level of support varies based on age, secularity, and poll question phrasing, but across the board, US Jewish support for Israel is down.

Maybe not in your country, but definitely in the US.
