To the contrary, innovation is proceeding full speed, despite patents. The only thing patents are doing is 1. enriching the lawyers on creation, 2. restraining law abiding innovators in country (meaning all other countries will proceed to ignore it anyway), 3. give the advantage to all other countries, and 4. enrich the lawyers again if they can find one of the in-country infringements to pursue (again ignoring all the others).
None of these outcomes is beneficial. The system is broken and antiquated. Ditch it.
I read that log graph with a different conclusion, there are no more "small GPUs" and the focus is only on big ones? or is that just an artifact of the data selection?
or at the very least go back to safe default when the computer part fails which is (should be) design 101. designing failsafe systems was one of the first thing we learned in engineering class (that was a while ago but still)...
I find fresh sessions to be superior (vibes) as self summary and compaction leaves weird things. I instead have it write things to a file that can be iterated or acted on in fresh sessions
It will simply teach them how to go around those "protections". And put them at risk of using shaddy services to do so. Exactly like what happened with the war on drugs...
Traditionally, Wikipedia encouraged you to "be bold", that is, if you think something is wrong, don't complain, don't ask for permission, just fix it. [1]
But now that Wikipedia is becoming more stable, I wonder if this policy is still pushed as much. My understanding is that on all articles there is an army of autistic and obsessive people who will make sure it stays clean (I mean it in a good way), so if you mess things up, it won't last long, as in, seconds.
Certainly not all articles; most edits I make stick. The problem is it sticks out as an extremely sore experience when it is the case, so that's what you hear about.
A dear friend of mine had a battle of sorts with a fan of mother theresa in the spanish version of her article.Of course the zealot maintainer won in the end, no place for evidence backed criticism in religious wiki articles.
Yeah I do this for the unicorns list typically. (I try to get my citations the best as possible, the UI for editing Wikipedia is modifying the actual text in the actual is it HTML or CSS, I have no idea I am a backend developer but it is difficult to keep up to date)
