At Wells Fargo, I'd kill for a dev environment in general. We only do production-classified-as-dev. And 4 months? Slow down! We're six months...if you're lucky.

How's that joke go? Everybody has a testing environment, some people are lucky enough to have a separate environment to run production in?

Companies love to use sharepoint for this. There's decent integration with MS Office, but it's still huge pain to use. Usually it involves multiple full time sharepoint "developers" to make it do what you want.

Wow! I know this is said sarcastically but I will keep WF as an example of a Big Corp where it might be possible.

I was being 100% serious. It's unfortunate for those of us that work hard and want to get things done, but there is very little accountability once you're in the door.
