If you can't put down your phone your answer can't be a "worse phone". I genuinely don't understand this shape of reasoning - at this point people need to go sit under a waterfall not look for tech solutions.
You can scrape twitter pretty easily yourself with an account (lots of free code on github) but that's the thing - you need an account which is legally complicated but for your own personal use you can just create a dummy account and you'll never be blocked.
Don't they require a phone number? Even if they don't, they probably require email. I don't really want to give them my main email and even less - phone number. So, buying an account seems like less of a hassle, than figuring out where to get a temporary email.
They make it really hard to get an account, no matter how legit you are, but if you eventually get one, you can plug it into your own private Nitter instance.
These are all available for couple of cents per email/phone number. I don't want to advertise these services directly but they work very well and you can find them with keywords like "SMS otp code service"
Well that wouldn't be instantly but either of those can be added with almost no real costs at personal-use scale. Throw away phone number for x.com registration is <0.25$. You can bypass all anti-bot and manage your account pool with https://github.com/CloakHQ/CloakBrowser-Manager and mobile IP hotspot. x.com is so heavily botted that your personal 1,000 scrapes per day will not even trigger any alarms.
Ha we use AI to detect dodgy ads with great success for our customers but the bottleneck is still the takedown. The dodgy ads always hit at least some amount of traffic just because google doesn't offer sufficient auditing tools for detecting these fast enough. So this has to be a problem google solves before the ad actually launches for best effectiveness.
As early foldable adopter I'm excited for Apple camp to finally join the superior pocket computer format! That being said rounded corners are bad and anyone who's part of this decision should be ashamed. Also corner camera placement? Just all around question marks for the design team, very uncharacteristic.

This has been a solved issue in modern foldables already. I live on a beach with Fold 6 and while I'm quite careful not to drop it I never had the sand stuck there for prolonged time. If there are any particles that crunch they do seem to disappear after a few folds which makes sense as metal is harder than sand. The inner screen has a soft protector you can replace at Samsung center for 15$ and 30 minutes of wait making the screen basically new.
One thing I generally trust with Apple is that if they finally released a foldable screen that they've overcome those issues. Apple tends to let others release new tech while they tend to be more conservative until they've polished it.
Honestly it works. I've never been tempted by foldable phones, but this version piques my interest.
In particular being able to do "dual screen" or large screen. Then add the behind screen facetime camera. Suddenly it goes from "eh" to "oh". Small tweaks perhaps but it changes how i view the form factor.
They've adopted OLED for screens, but it's gotten even worse with iPhone 17 with horrible PWM difficult to look at. While Chinese models are introducing DC dimming and fighting the problem.

I did fair amount of research, and it seems like they take it seriously with GDPR, HIPAA etc. and all the privacy legalities, but obviously Uncle Sam will have his way with it as it's a US based company (California). They will share your DNA if legally compelled.
There is a "permanent delete my data" option, but there's no independent audit that permanent delete actually deletes anything. If you're in EU/California they kinda have to take delete seriously due to GDPR and CCPA, so I think you're safer here.
I've been thinking about this a lot, and I'm not sure how "protectable" your DNA actually is because of how easy it is to get if somebody wants to. Obviously having your DNA in US government is bad, but they likely have it already.
As I'm an EU citizen I will get the data and use the delete option with fingers crossed that US government doesn't want to destroy me for whatever reason. Seems like they have their hands full with other kinds of destruction anyway lol
well they didn't really die on the hill. the NYT headline is still "OpenAI says it has cracked one of math's millennium problems" and the whole article doesn't mention this controversy. Normies don't know what NS is and don't care, they'll just see "wow OpenAI is the best I guess"
This makes me really miss LAN parties. What an absolute gem of early PC culture that is sadly mostly forgotten? A reasonable replacement is phone gaming parties and I'm not kidding - it's really fun! We did Among Us phone LAN party recently and it was a blast.
I recently tried to hook up a few games and was sadly surprised they make it hard to work on a LAN, even old FOSS games push you towards internet play.
