Weird, it doesn't crash on me here. I'm using Opera 10.10 browser on OS X 10.6.2

You can run this app from an emulator such as vMac, which is awesome since Apple has released System 6 and 7 as freeware on their website.

Historic note -- prior to System 7.1, all Mac OS versions were freely redistributed and provided for a nominal fee from Apple.

We would get our copy from the local university bookstore for the cost of the media.

I don't get it.

Must be a LISP programmer?

I love Enlightenment. Used to show it off to friends during presentations just for kicks. ;)

Other than that it's pretty usable, though takes a while getting used to.

...why not 99 red balloons instead? :)

Mistakes, not experiences, are what makes us better programmers.

Programs back then probably weren't designed with modularity in mind, which is why its hard to remove even the slightest detail of code without extensive testing..

I really hope Microsoft gradually improves this situation with the MinWin project.

Not that rewriting NotePad should ever be any daunting task.

Come on! Extensively testing notepad?! How hard can that be?

The Speed dial page on Opera browser. It has Google reader, Gmail, Facebook and Twitter on it.

Twittering and blogging have their own separate places. It's perfectly fine to engage in both of them.

Or, you know, focus on one and occasionally visit the other.

i noticed it too. the "young programmer" is certainly emphasized.
