This is a terrible, whiny perspective and the author could use a heaping dose of economic thinking. Sure, there's lots of 'terrible' software and it would be great if it were better or there was less of it! Except there are real costs to improving software or to preventing 'terrible' software from being released, or used, or disseminated.
I am so happy the author is not a position to make decisions about this stuff for everyone else.
