And Ubuntu is poised to bite the bullet and do the same in a release or two :)
And it works comfortably with the offical drivers for modern ATI graphics cards. (One of the earlier fears about Wayland).
I really wish people would cut it out with the "Wayland is doomed" myth. This is just how free software works: you see stuff before it's done. Then (given sufficient backing) it gets finished. Then it works.
Mutter's Wayland implementation is the default display server for Gnome Shell right now. How much more prime time do can you get?
