I actually would be fine as long as the SIM card is not fried - yeah I would lose some game progress data but that's it. My calendar, phonebook and mails are in the cloud, Whatsapp has regular backups to the SD card, as are the images.

Sounds like a similar strategy would work fine with the iMac Pro...
