This exactly! I recently moved to SF and just love that on my walk back home I can just stop by and get the things I need to make dinner for the night. No more buying a ton of stuff and storing in the fridge.

As for the heavy stuff: many stores offer home delivery. There are also other apps that have people deliver stuff to your home for a small fee. Definitely doable.
