Interesting story - a lot of this stuff seems "optimistic" for 2030, but I definitely could see a lot of this going on in 2050, especially when we start talking about Neurolink. Don't need to mention that the human brain is incredibly complex, and I don't think we're even close to the "Apollo missions" or "Model T" moment with that technology.

However with GPT-3 already producing React components, I can see the nature of writing code changing drastically in the next 10 years - more business logic, glue code, and a new task I would call "auditing" or "curating" AI-generated code for integration.

Edit - some of this stuff is coming true already - Psilocybin has just been decriminalized in some municipalities in the US - [1] just happened today! Based on historical indicators about the path of Cannabis legislation reform, we may be looking at common acceptance and state-level legalization in the coming decade.

Can't speak as well to the specific timeline around rising ocean levels displacing people - I imagine it will occur gradually, then suddenly, and will definitely happen by the end of the century, but specifically when I'm not sure we can say (not a statement of climate skepticism).

I enjoyed this story a lot—it felt like the perfect dose of futurism to start my day. I noticed some similarities with both the overall tone and the first chapter specifically of Fall; or, Dodge in Hell by Neal Stephenson, but I have to admit that for me personally that was a positive thing.

Haha it does a bit, I am wary of that. But I think if we look at some of the biggest potentials to fundamentally move humans forward, a lot of them are around his companies. Not the only ones of course!
