Dread is anticipation. I’m surprised that there would be commingling of sentiment and future-preparation in NLP professionals. The dictionary definition is sort of tautological- a functional model of the cognitive state, for terms that describe cognitive states, is probably a better approach.
If Plutchik categorizes anger and fear as opposites, I have a feeling part of the problem is the choice of guidance on how to categorize. He must have been the bully and not the bullied in childhood.
