This should be the poster child for making non-competes illegal nationwide. It's great that in California, people are able to use their hard earned technical expertise to strike out on their own, create competition and be compensated appropriately for their innovations.

Now tech companies will have to ensure their innovators are adequately rewarded or they leave to create a competitor. This ensures more equitable compensation for creating value.

This simply wouldnt be possible in a state where non-competes are enforced. They either have to change industries or keep working for below market wages accepting whatever the company decides is their compensation.

Apple sued their CEO and ex-employees Gerard Williams III, not NUVIA. So Qualcomm has nothing to do with that.

>, NUVIA’s $240M investors weren’t interested in a measly 5X gain.

Marvell's exit of ARM business partly or unintentionally confirms every single HyperScaler has their own plan to make an ARM chip. There are no immediate market for ARM server chip in the short term.

Qualcomm needs Single Thread Performance Core, which there are nothing on the ARM roadmap. NUVIA has at least something that will rival A14 or A15 within similar timeframe.

No marketshare for x86 on mobile was setback for Intel. Now with ARM started with Server marketshare(with AMD EPYC bigger threat in near future) problems are just gonna get bigger for Intel.
