Samsung seemingly caught swapping components in it...
Something doesn't line up here. The "old" model number in the ars piece is given as MZVLB1T0HBLR, which corresponds to a PM981a according to Samsung's website. Was that ever sold as a 970 Evo Plus?

It would seem to be the case. lshw reports the controller on my 970 Evo Plus as "NVMe SSD Controller SM981/PM981/PM983"
