I'm confused as to how this made the front page. It's your standard John Doe / Jane Doe mystery story and It's not even a link to the full story, just an excerpt that links you to the full story here: https://magazine.atavist.com/searching-for-mr-x-amnesia-miss... . It makes me wonder how easy it is game HN rankings.

Still, I enjoyed the story, even if it isn't the usual content for this site.

I was hoping this was about the '80s comics which were a wild mashup of architecture and sci-fi[1]. I liked the idea of an architect (who was suspiciously similar to Le Corbusier) designing a city that drove its residents mad, and then working to unmake it.
