Well it is a 7in. screen so that could possibly reduce the file size needed.

And they're using the Kindle WhisperSync for use with compatible TVs, PCs, etc. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/?nodeId=...)

When I use Handbrake to rip directly from DVD to Apple TV format the video comes out at just over 700 megs.
