I worked from home for many years way before COVID. I was an independent contractor and worked happily and successfully without any video conferencing. I would pop into the client's office on rare occasions only. Most communication was by messaging.

I think there is a breakthrough to be made in working out why face to face is felt to be so necessary. I think it is a modern phenomenon (glad to be corrected) and represents a weakness somewhere in how businesses are run. Fix it and make a fortune!
