A total disheartening bit of jadedness, this comment. An individual is allowed to express awe and depth without having to meet arbitrary standards. If it were otherwise, the world would be poorer for it.

But an individual isn't allowed to express dislike without having to meet similar standards?

And I'm allowed to dislike your dislike. At least have the decency to match the passion the original work had when you dislike it

Why? I don't owe you anything, if I dislike something, I dislike it however I want to, and it's as valid as your liking it.

I don't mind if you dislike things, just think about why you think that it's OK if someone likes something, but not OK if someone dislikes it.

What a world, indeed.

HN guidelines:

Be kind. Don't be snarky. Converse curiously; don't cross-examine. Edit out swipes.

Comments should get more thoughtful and substantive, not less, as a topic gets more divisive.

When disagreeing, please reply to the argument instead of calling names.

Please don't fulminate. Please don't sneer, including at the rest of the community.

Please don't post shallow dismissals, especially of other people's work. A good critical comment teaches us something.

not enough high-speed car chases IMHO.
