Police (in basically all countries) have the goal for their job to be as easy and efficient as possible. That will be priority one, like it is with most of this. You can't really blame Europol for this. They will ask for as much as they can get, as they seem themselves as the ultimate good guys. They "could never abuse their power". However as citizens, politicians and the rest of us peasants have to push back, that's just part of the contract, anything else is living in a dream world. It's not about child abuse, it's about concentrating power and making their lives as easy as possible.
