So while I'm not going to disagree that writing with pen and paper can be a valuable exercise, the assertion that it's inevitable is utterly false. I am far more effective in sketching out my code design in an IDE than I am on paper, and never in my professional career of 23 years have I had to write out code in pen and paper for a job interview, or even in the job.
