I think the relevant wikipedia terms here are "Aliasing" and "Nyquist Frequency"


I would have said "Poincaré map", as that's basically what this is, in some respect.


Whatever you want to call it, it's a very cool effect.. (edit: but thank you for providing some educational context! Off to Wikipedia I go..)
