Oh, this hory old debate again, when will it ever end?
I was brought up in the analog world but which one is better depends on the math. If one has sufficient bandwidth (Fourier components) and enough amplitude and phase linearity in one's ADC/DACs it makes no difference—any digital artifacts are outside any level of human perception.
Go even further and bats won't be able to distinguish the difference.
I prefer to trust the math any day rather than my subjective flaky ears.
That said, it's still never going to quell the argument, as the Golden Ear Brigade would have nothing left to talk about.
