There's people out there who have used nothing but Windows all their life. A change will take decades.

The learning curve isn't really hard. I've installed Kubuntu for people, set them up with Chrome and turned the websites in to Chrome apps and they're good to go. Connect them to wifi and they don't know the difference. Works out of box.
